Manis for Grannies was founded by Arianna Grossman, a senior at Glen Ridge High School, with a heartfelt mission to uplift the well-being and dignity of elderly individuals through the simple yet impactful art of painting nails. We believe that every senior deserves to feel valued, cherished, and cared for, especially in the later stages of life when connection and companionship can become harder to find.

Our dedicated founding team, which includes Glen Ridge HS seniors Keira Runnions, Tahlia Lodewick, Quinn McNelly, and others students from, is committed to making a difference in the lives of the elderly in our community. By visiting local senior homes, we offer residents more than just painting nails; we provide a compassionate, friendly presence, ensuring that each resident feels seen, heard, and appreciated. We take time to engage with each individual with but meaningful conversations and connection.

The services we offer include nail painting, gentle filing, hand massages, and a listening ear. By creating a serene, spa-like experience with calming music and essential oils, we aim to transport residents to a place of relaxation and self-care. Our goal is to alleviate feelings of loneliness and foster a sense of belonging, reminding each resident that they are special and deserving of attention.

 

Our volunteer efforts are rooted in the belief that something as simple as nail care can have a profound impact on mental and emotional well-being. Through our visits, we aim to spread joy, build relationships, and ensure that every senior we meet feels pampered, loved, and appreciated.
